While the film sets some things in motion, it also seems a bit rushed at times and stretched at others. Its also oddly reminiscent of the Star Wars franchise. That said, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania takes you on a fun adventure. And, as always, stay back for Easter eggs in the mid and post credit scenes.

Well, say goodbye to all that warmth, and dive deep instead into the hot mess that is the €œquantum realm€, or as the film itself calls it, €œQuantumania€. In a terrible idea, almost the entirety of the film again directed by Peyton Reed €” is shot in this universe €œbelow ours€, which is €œsomewhere between time and space€, €œbeyond void and subatomia€.There is another question that the films bruised, bellowing but never beaten characters keep asking one another: €œWhat does any of it mean?€Sometimes, its important to heed the answer.

Overall, Quantumania is not an utter letdown, but falls short of the signature Marvel magic that makes their films an entertaining and compelling affair. The well liked Ant-Man franchise deserved more than just being a filler episode for what’s to unfold in the phase five of MCU. If the two post-credit snippets are anything to go by, the Multiverse Saga finally has a definite direction to follow. And with Kang at its centre, hope things get real interesting from here on.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ends up becoming yet another Thor: Love and Thunder or Doctor Strange in the Madness of Multiverse where the superheroes end up becoming the supporting actors of their own film. While visually it is much better than the prequels, Ant-Man 3 needed a little more brewing.

What works in the film, though, is Kang. Heres a bad guy you want to invest in and Marvel has a future film devoted to him. His introduction in Quantumania sets the seeds for future development of his character. Full marks to Majors for making Kang so menacing. Paul Rudd is likeable as ever, but we wish the writers gave him better monologues and more poignant moments in the film. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the weakest Marvel film in recent times. It isnt bad, it just falls short of being in the league of its predecessors.

Talking about the VFX, the film does deserve a mention here. But it is still not an eye-popping visual spectacle like Avatar was. We have seen such scenes in previous Ant-Man and even in the Doctor Strange series. The film is strictly for die-hard MCU fans, and Marvel needs better writers to match up with the engaging script of some of its previous successes like Endgame and Infinity War.

All said and done, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania starts Marvels Phase 5 on such a low note that anything from here would look good. Unfortunately, this one just doesnt fly.

On the whole, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA works due to the fascinating storyline, performances and exhilarating finale. It also introduces an exciting and terrifying new villain and as a result, its a must-watch for Marvel fans. However, the clich©d narrative and beaten-to-death action sequences will prevent it from becoming a huge grosser like the recent Marvel films.
