Captain America Brave New World

Sharing fresh new updates on buzzy upcoming Marvel movies? We can do this all day! With the release of Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine just days away, and the MCU focusing its attention on small-screen shows like WandaVision spin-off Agatha All Along for the remainder of 2024, the next blockbuster in the Sacred Timeline we’ll be getting is next February’s Captain America: Brave New World (formerly New World Order). And, with it being American Independence Day yesterday, Anthony Mackie — Cap himself — took to Instagram to share a new photo of himself suited up, shield in hand, to mark the occasion in Marvel-ous fashion. Check it out below;

As you can see in the new photo, Sam Wilson’s switching up his Cap wardrobe for Brave New World, trading his more outré The Falcon And The Winter Soldier suit in favour of a more stealthy, more recognisably Steve Rogers-esque get-up here. And, without any Super Soldier serum, Sam Wilson’s going to be needing that indomitable Rogers spirit in the upcoming film. As director Julius Onah told Empire recently, “[Brave New World] is really his coming-out show — it’s about putting him through his paces.” And with the movie set to see Sam’s Cap squaring up to Tim Blake Nelson’s Samuel Sterns — aka The Incredible Hulk‘s The Leader — and an as-yet-unnamed Giancarlo Esposito mystery villain, it sounds like our Star-Spangled supe’s got his work cut out for him.

Also stepping into Onah’s brave new world for the MCU’s fourth Captain America movie are Harrison Ford’s General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross, Danny Ramirez’ Falcon-in-waiting Joaquin Torres, and Carl Lumbley as former Super Soldier serum recipient and mistreated war veteran Isaiah Bradley. Mackie’s big-screen debut as Captain America is set to fly into cinemas on 14 February, 2025.
