Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin and Zach Dean have written an engaging story which moves at a fast pace. The screenplay, penned by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin, is full of twists and turns and it, therefore, keeps the audience hooked on to the proceedings right from the word go. Theres never a dull moment because the drama is interspersed with action galore. The chase and action scenes as well as the stunts are nothing short of daredevilry. Overall, the drama is so exciting that the viewers get completely engrossed and entertained. On the whole, Fast X is a surefire hit.

Director Louis Leterrier offers an orgy of explosions and car chases demanding minimal emotional investment. If you dont mind a cycle of preposterous action sequences loaded with VFX not allowing a moment of calm, Fast X delivers exactly what it promises. Pete Davidson has a fun cameo. You won’t blink even for a second. The film offers mindless popcorn entertainment in every scene in abundance. However, there is not a single novelty factor and watching one film in the series is as good as watching them all.

However, there is only one time the film actually offers glimpses of what it meant to be along for the ride with this bunch of testosterone driven cars. A bomb the size of several tonnes is hurtling down Rome streets, threatening the Vatican, and must be stopped. That is an audacious idea, as basic as it gets, with none of the mumbo-jumbo about whats under the hood of a car surrounding it. Sometimes its better to be silly than over-smart.

Ten films on and multiple characters later, I still find myself getting excited about the Fast & Furious series. Best described in Bollywood language as Hum Saath Saath Hai meets Rohit Shettys action universe, Fast & Furious has many takers in India, primarily due to the large-scale cinematography and insane action sequence. Fast X continues to keep this formula intact on the plate but offers you a bowl of disappointment as well.

The franchise has never shied away from going over-the-top and we can see that in its 10th installment, which is ridiculously entertaining with the deadly combination of swag, action and family emotions. While the plot of Fast X is predictable, director Louis Leterrier scores brownie points by bringing out some great nostalgic moments, which will leave you teary-eyed along with surprising cameos. With continuous rush on the big canvas, you cant do anything but wait for Dantes next move.

The 140-minute film is punched with several action sequences which work. At least in most parts. Once you park your brain outside, it is easy to laugh over the sequences and feel the energy and adrenaline rush that lights up the screen. When the film is not serving action, the fault of its lead actor, Vin Diesel, to pull off emotional and vulnerable scenes can be noticed. There is enough fan-service in the movie for F&F regulars, but the plot is way too predictable. The climax ends on a cliff hanger, to be a setup for the sequel arriving in 2025. Also, wait for the post-credits’ scene, a pleasant surprise awaits! Fast X offers everything that shouts OVER-THE-TOP but then again, you already know that!

Fast X may not be the best film in the franchise but it tries to bring together some of its best elements and an all new agenda. Meanwhile, the post credit scene does make us think as to whether this was all a ruse to make us wait and watch out for what the following film will have to offer. But all in all, it gives us quite the experience and F&F fans are mostly happy!

All said and done, the movie might feel a little slow at many points with a truckload of family drama. But whats good s that the grand vision of certain action sequences has manifested on screen and are a treat to watch.

Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin & Zach Deans story tries to pack in a lot by briefly touching everything and packaging nothing to drag the non-action sequences. The film holds your attention only when the lavish saving Seven Hills of Rome from an on-fire mega-sized iron ball kind of action set pieces take place & fortunately, there are multiple of them. All said and done, contrary to its title, this franchise is on its way to getting a Slow & Tedious conclusion, thanks to taking the family BS too seriously, adding unnecessary clutter which aint a 1 Man/John Wick show for VinDiesel to achieve, who has outstayed his FAMILYs welcome.
