Gadar2 is old-school desi entertainment at its best€¦ SunnyDeol returns to the big screen with a vengeance€¦ He is as ferocious as ever€¦ Gadar2 will create Gadar at the BO€¦ The patriotic flavour coupled with tremendous recall value will make it a huge money-spinner. Gadar2 couldve done with a shorter run time and a few over-stretched sequences.

On the whole, Gadar 2 is not just a film; it will be treated by the audience as an emotion and a celebration. It will prove to be a blockbuster. Its first week should see the film cross the Rs. 200-crore mark!!

Director Anil Sharma and writer shaktiman aren’t really fussed about Lucidity or coherence or even Beyond a point storytelling Gadar 2 Simply and unapologetically Taps into Nostalgia and affection for the 2001 original the makers hope that the Blockbuster magic of that one has survived 22 years and will somehow fuel the sequel which also serves as a showreel for sharma’s son utkarsh who also featured in the original

While the first part is spent on establishing the emotional content and pretext, the second half is where most meat lies. Theres Sunny Deol jumping atop moving trains, hailing slogans for India, talking about the tricolour, Pakistan, bombing and lots of ayee! What more can you possibly ask for?All in all, Gadar 2 supersedes expectations, as it successfully tugs at your heartstrings. And theres Sunny Paaji to do all the heavy-lifting (pun intended). Hence, it would be safe to conclude that Gadar 2 ne kaafi gadar machayi hain!

What the film lacks is a solid premise. The sentiment stemming from loss of lives and brutal aftermath of the partition moved the audiences in the first film. The cross border love story and a tale of survival tugged at your heartstrings as it had a solid emotional core despite the provocative dialogues. The sequel struggles to leave you emotionally charged. Gadar 2 tries to cash in on the nostalgia factor, filmy dialoguebaazi and slowmo action scenes, without a story or purpose that can hold it all together.

Gadar 2 is perfect massy entertainer by Sunny Deol, and it is a must-watch on the big screens especially if you want to relive 2000s again. Barring a few things, the movie is quite an entertainer, going with 4 stars.

Gadar 2 has so many faults that it will take a long time to list them all. But the film uses sheer emotion and some smart packaging to plaster over them. It plays to the gallery by infusing some seetimaar dialogues. The number of whistleworthy moments in the film is quite high and one is bound to see videos of people dancing and cheering in the halls in the days to come.

What got everyone pumped is the chant Hindustan Zindabad. Nostalgia plays a huge role in Gadar 2. It feels good to see the characters back again. It is a good watch.. Even when the story might be quite similar to Gadar 1, its sequel has gained everyones attention

Gadar 2 is exactly in the same mould as the original, with the high-on-patriotism Tara Singh going on a rampage in Pakistan again, this time to rescue his strapping son (Sharma) from the clutches of the cruel Major General Hamid Iqbal (Wadhwa). So heres the thing: why would we want to watch a reprise unless it offers us something more?

Shaktimaan’s story has all the trappings of a commercial entertainer and is apt for the sequel of a historic blockbuster like GADAR EK PREM KATHA [2001]. Shaktimaan’s screenplay is decent. He has peppered the narrative with mass scenes. But in several places, its unimaginative. Shaktimaan’s dialogues are clapworthy in certain scenes. On the whole, GADAR 2 works big time due to a strong franchise value, the right release period, and a narrative that instills patriotism. At the box office, it will open huge and break records in the mass belts. The holidays in Week One will help the movie rake in huge moolah.
