The movie shows how Jacqueline made possible, that even today, the legacy of JFK stands, even if it may not be true. It shows the public and the private face of Jacqueline, the most famous first lady ever. While the story of JFKs assassination and the aftermath is famous, Larrain makes sure the public can see the workings of her mind. A disturbingly intimate portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy, Jackie is a film that unmasks her in such a tender yet objective manner; you feel like an intruder who is tailing the first lady of America and a widow in her most trying time. Still, this is when director Pablo Larran shows you just what Jacqueline was made of.

Jackie offers a window through time into the life of Jacqueline Kennedy but you wouldnt want to believe it is due to the exorbitantly larger than life treatment that it gets. The film tried exceptionally hard to be exceptional and it seeps through the seams just enough to make you feel disenchanted.

If the account is true, the film portrays Jackie Kennedy as being awfully smug and pretentious. But with that being said, the audience is constantly reminded of how traumatic an experience she went through, and asks how we would feel if we were put into the same position.Overall, with a proper tone, accurate setting and above all, an unforgettable performance, Jackie is a powerful, subtle and dark film made only more emotional by the grating soundtrack.
