There are some movies that should not be messed with particularly because they represent a significant part of our childhood. Jumanji is one of such films and any prospect of a remake sends a shiver down the spine. However, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is is surprisingly not as bad you think it would be, in fact its breezy and harmless nature might just win you over.

This entire body-switch premise works on slapstick humour that’s not crass and moves quickly with ample action to ensure that the 2-hour runtime doesn’t feel bulky at any point. Granted there’s a villain problem with Bobby Cannavale’s Van Pelt being as one-dimensional as they come. It’s conveniently explained away as this is all a video game, and the same rules apply for its lack of depth. ‘Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle’ ends up being a fun, holiday film that will keep you entertained enough to make it worth your time and money.

Productionwise, a few scenes really make you jump in your seats, so I am assuming those took most of the 3-D budget that a few crucial scenes, like the one in the very end, that needed better rendering, suffered. Having scene Karen Gillan throw mean punches in Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, watching the awkward action choreography in her scenes feels jarring. The thumping of the drums still has the same effect as it had in Robin Williams’ 1995 movie – excitement and fear rolled in one. It’s a fun entertainer to wrap up 2017

This is for the millennials! After they watch this, we the kids of 90s dont need to ask them have they watched Jumanji yet? Because after watching this theyre surely going to watch the original.Watch or Not?: For sure if youve watched the original, if you havent watch this and then the original. In any case, watch it for some real fun.

Director Jake Kasdan crams the narrative with one outlandish crisis after another. There are hair-raising encounters with beasties including a pack of rampaging hippos. Throughout, the far-fetched goings-on compel us to suspend disbelief. An intermittently amusing fantasy €¦Welcome to the Jungle will appeal primarily to adolescent viewers.

On the whole, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE features a well-adapted storyline and screenplay that has been more than decently directed thus making for a fun watch. With well-timed humour combined with slapstick comedy, the film is certainly worth a watch. However, at the Indian box office, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE will grow with word of mouth, as the latest Salman Khan flick TIGER ZINDA HAI continues to enjoy massive support from the audience.
