MORE DETAIL:

MR. MANHATTAN, airing on Great American Family, is a romantic comedy that goes straight to the heart.

Highly successful corporate lawyer Mason hopes to make partner at his prestigious New York firm. However, tragedy strikes when his brother dies and leaves him with two young children to raise as his own. Mason realizes he can’t juggle a high-pressure job and meet the children’s needs. How can he honor his brother’s wishes, pursue his goals, and do what’s best for the children, all at the same time?

Mason is from a small town in upstate New York. He’s engaged to marry Dani, a Sunday school teacher and Pastor’s daughter. Excitement looms as he becomes an uncle and Godfather for the first time. Mason’s seemingly clear path changes when he accepts a scholarship to Columbia Law School. Dani wonders, however, if she’s cut out for the big city life.

Flash forward ten years. Mason is a high-powered corporate lawyer about to partner at a prestigious law firm. He’s still teetering on the verge marriage, only this time with someone else.

However, everything changes when Mason gets the tragic news, that his brother and sister-in-law died in a car accident. The career-focused bachelor is appointed guardian of his brother’s children. He must go home to settle affairs at the most pivotal moment of his career.

Meanwhile, Mason’s old flame, Dani, asks for custody of Mason’s two nieces because she remains close to the children. Mason stoically refuses her offer, however.

Though Dani is much the same person, she discovers Mason has changed. He’s lost his faith in God although he wants to honor his promise to his brother. Mason heads back to live in New York City, children in tow.

A string of misadventures makes Mason realize he has no idea what he’s doing and is in way over his head. Dani travels to New York City to offer some much-needed support. However, things turn awkward when Dani has a front-row seat to Mason’s new life and the other woman he’s about to marry.

Dani and Mason can’t deny their chemistry is still there. Did they make a mistake ending things so long ago? Dani returns home brokenhearted. Mason doesn’t see a way he can win. Can Mason take Dani’s advice, find faith in God again and do something big, or is it too late?
