It was a long, long wait for the Oscars this year – and it was no ordinary ceremony. Delayed due to the pandemic, and featuring a selection of films that for the most part didn’t come out in cinemas, it still somehow managed to be a ceremony full of brilliant movies worth celebrating – from Nomadland and The Father, to Judas And The Black Messiah and Another Round. As for the ceremony itself, it was filled with all the usual shocks, surprises, jubilant wins, and occasional safe choices.
