Perfect Strangers

In The Lost Prince, writer-director Stephen Poliakoff brilliantly told an intimate family story, bolstered by a backdrop of palaces and oncoming war, and he explores many of the same themes (family, class, memory) to nearly as great effect in this poignant three-part drama. The seasoned cast members are a joy to watch — particularly Michael Gambon as the slightly bonkers black sheep of the family — despite dialogue that’s occasionally overly mannered for the modern setting.
