Its a testament to the star power of Salman Khan that Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is never unwatchable despite its old-fashioned story, its frankly laughable scenarios  and its failure to flesh out characters adequately. The film revisits many of Barjatyas favorite themes the importance of family, the enduring bond of brotherhood, and the power of forgiveness but it has nothing particularly new to say that might justify making this film in 2015. Im going with two-and-a-half stars plus an additional half star for Salman Khan, which makes it three out of five for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Get ready for a sugar rush.

On the whole, PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO is the perfect Diwali entertainer for the entire family. The film will win abundant love [prem], while its investors will reap a harvest [dhan], making it a memorable Diwali for all concerned. This one’s a record-smasher — scoring from East to West and from North to South, scoring at plexes as well as single screens, scoring at metros as well as non-metros, scoring in the domestic market as well as in the international arena. B-L-O-C-K-B-U-S-T-E-R!

On the whole, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will be loved by one section of the audience and will not find favour with youngsters initially, but it will, in the final tally, emerge as a comfortable box-office winner for all concerned. It will do huge business at the ticket windows. Despite its high cost, profits are assured. In fact, the film may go on to earn very well if the ladies audi­ence patronises it in a big way which is a very big possibility.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is Salman Khan’s triumph. Salman simply blows the top off the theatres with a double role that makes you laugh, gasp, sigh – and cry.Ghee-soaked in goodness, PRDP is gift-wrapped with a simple line. With family, stand strong – but also bow. Because nothing hurts like your own blood – and nothing heals like it too..

In Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo nothing belongs, nothing is a fit. And Ms Sonam Kapoor is lissome and quite lovely, but her slim derriere is no match for Ms Madhuri Dixits saucy, jutting butt in HAHK: nope, nothing in PRDP for us, in the India of 2015.

A lot of visible effort has gone in designing Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s opulence and scale but ultimately it is just lacklustre, recycled fare from a man stuck on men versus women sporting contests, midnight kitchen rendezvous and the pristine aura of Prem. The last one still holds good. Rest is just rah-rah.

Unlike his earlier films, Sooraj hasnt been able to do complete justice to his secondary characters. Its because of the mediocre score that the film begins to feel lengthy. Maybe knocking off a few songs and a few minutes wouldve made the difference. PRDP is a must-watch for all Salman fans and will be best enjoyed with your family. Because no family film gets bigger than this one!

Had the duo of do-gooders taken less time in achieving their end and had Salman Khan been a given a more naturally gifted female co-star than Sonam, PRDP might have been an infinitely better film despite the vapidity of the script. The overwrought PRDP might not be that bad, but it is syrupy to the point of being unendurable. Only for Salman Khan fans.

If you want to relive the HAHK times, this could be your pick. There is everything you will find in a Rajshri film and hence it will appeal to you only if you are a fan of their films which are all about values, traditions and love for ones family Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is not everyones cup of tea! It is a family watch and best for those who love to watch happy endings with emotional undertones. This is a typical Rajshri affair so watch it only if you can digest it. I am going with a 3/5 for the film.

Blood is thicker than water. That’s what Sooraj Barjatya films are mostly about. Family ties, the stresses and tensions that every family needs to go through and the likes. If you’ve watched this director’s films in the past, you’d get the drift. If not, there’s always Salman Khan to fall back on.In all, the film works for both Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya’s specific audience bases. While a Salman fan might miss his super-human antic at times, he does a great job otherwise. Watch the film for Salman.

The director has tried his best to keep the ethics of Indian culture right at the centre of his screenplay. The movie is a sureshot family entertainer, without any uncomfortable scenes. However, it does take a while to digest that such a perfect family and ethics can co-exist in today’s time.

Through PRDP, Sooraj Barjatya has once again laid emphasis on family values and spreading love. There is romance, drama coupled with some action sequences towards the end make this movie a wholesome entertainer. All in all, PRDP is a perfect treat for the families this festive season.
