The makers of Race 3 have already declared that this is not a movie for critics. What theyre implying, predictably, is that critics are a bunch of joyless nitpickers who dont have an appetite for any movie that delivers strictly popcorn entertainment; . But hey, thats a false notion. I only have to point to the first Race from 2008, directed by Abbas-Mustan, or even to 2013s Race 2, to make my point. They were stylishly mounted, briskly paced, twisty thrillers that delivered varying degrees of guilty pleasure and dumb fun. Race 3 does not deliver fun. Race 3 is as enjoyable as jamming your finger in a door. Im going with one out of five for Race 3. Its over two-and-a-half hours of complete drivel.

All that glitters is not gold… Remo Dsouza misses the golden opportunity! Race3 rests on Salmans brawny shoulders… Eid holidays + brand value attached to the film [#Race] are huge plusses… But the biggest of films need a strong foundation [content] to stand tall… Unfortunately, #Race3 lacks that power!

On the whole, Race 3 is saved because of an engaging post-interval portion. Despite the terribly dull first half, it will do decent business. Since its cost of production has already been recovered from sale of non-theatrical rights, shares from India and Overseas theatrical revenues will be good enough to generate handsome profits to the producers. But those distributors, who have acquired the rights at very high prices, would lose a small part of their investments. It will definitely not qualify as a box-office hit because of the poor pre-interval portion. Collections on second day (Eid) and third day (post-Eid; Sunday) will be phenomenal.

Race 3 has the cars and locations but everything else is in short supply especially the trademark kameenapan. The entry of Salman Khan has made the franchise sanskari. At one point in the film, Sikander says: family aur family ke prati loyalty se bhad kar kuch nahin hota. I thought I had walked into the wrong film. This isnt Race. It is, as Salman is rumored to have described it, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! meets Dhoom. You can imagine how that plays out.

Some in the audience might be charitable enough to describe Race 3 as a slick and stylish actioner designed for Salman Khan and, therefore, beyond the purview of critical nitpicking. Sure, but shouldn’t a movie, no matter how cinematically unambitious, go beyond the lure of creative lethargy? Race 3 makes no effort at all in that direction.

Race 3 is nothing but a recycled bin of too many car chases, explosions, buffed up characters strutting in slo-mo, and wilted lines. The same character who had a bad feeling, also uses the word so tacky. Well, what else would you call a film which doesnt do justice to its finest asset, Anil Kapoor? The superbly fit Kapoor is a left-over from the previous Race flicks, and he was an absolute hoot in both.

To say that the film has a wafer thin plot is an understatement. Theres absolutely no punch or drive in the script and as a result the story of the film just does not involve the viewer at all.But for all its big moments, Race 3 just does not work up the feeling of suspense and intrigue that made the previous masala movies from the franchise a guilty pleasure. This film has a lot of visual appeal but the all style and no substance approach makes this 2 hours 40 minutes film a real drag.

The story of the film, we felt, doesnt do justice to the earlier films in the franchise. Race was always about the mind games but the third film in the franchise was all about loving your family. Really? There is a point in the film when I started wondering if perhaps I had bought the tickets for a Rajshri film instead of a film that was once the epitome of betrayal.Race 3 is a treat for Salman fans but it ends at being just that. There is no reason why you shouldnt buy the tickets to watch Salman Khan doing what he does best. But if you go in expecting to watch the third film of the Race franchise, you might not be too pleased with the way it has been treated.

The first half of RACE 3 is quite horrible and theres absolutely no story. Its only in the second half that the film boasts of some worthwhile moments. On the whole, RACE 3 is high on style and low on substance. It lacks entertainment value and is a disappointing fare due to its wafer thin plot. At the box office, the movie will take a jump start due to Salman Khans star power and accelerate over the weekend, post which, the business will see a sizeable drop. The film will entail losses to the distributors.

Race 3, which delves into the lives of a wealthy dysfunctional family in pursuit of power and money, is a disappointment. Even Khans charisma and star power fails to ignite this colossal mess. Race 3 splutters to life in bits and parts, but its a mammoth let-down. Watch this if you are a motor head who loves to watch cars being blown up, but if you are looking for an intriguing story, then Race 3 isnt the answer.

Hes either ripping his shirt off to flex his muscles, in slow-mo no less, or clothing himself in a wingsuit so he can put jets and choppers to shame. Hell, he even went to Oxford for this one! But, every trick that Salman Khan plays out in Race 3 unfortunately lacks in charm and spirit, and instead, reeks of desperation. Where an ageing superstar banks on nothing more than his shirtless act to push forward a Bollywood franchise that was never meant to be. So, we watch in utter disbelief, as Bollywoods infamous man-child gleefully plays fast and furious with his bunch of cronies. Only, his director Remo DSouza refuses to play along and turns an action thriller into a strange Broadway-style musical.
