To be fair, the script isnt all bad. Gupta gives us little clues in throwaway dialogues, in innocuous scenes where characters behave uncharacteristically, and in seemingly ordinary moments that prove surprisingly relevant. Youll be piecing the puzzle as the film unfolds, and although youll probably guess the films big revelation before its made, this isnt a bad way to spend two hours of your life.Im going with three out of five for Rahasya. Its a very watchable thriller, inconsistent but never dull. A compelling account inspired by an oddly fascinating case.

Ashish Vidyarthi as the wrongly implicated father is suitably befuddled, grieving and unraveling as and when the story demands while Tisca Chopra delivers a restrained performance.Kay Kay Menon, who played a hot-headed cop in Manish Guptas directorial debut The Stoneman Murders, plays the investigating CBI official with a flair that we are all too familiar with.Watch this one if a clever whodunit is your thing.

This is a dark, desperate, sinister, gutsy and gripping thriller which may not tilt you to the edge of the seat. But you do want to know who killed the teenaged girl Ayesha Mahajan.The answer won’t please you for sure.Messy lives, sordid relationships, betrayal and revenge run through the veins of the film. Barbara Cartland would have frowned. But Agatha Christie would have assuredly approved.

As far as execution is concerned, while the unhurried unfolding of mystery adds depth to the film, it also demands patience from the viewers, which may or may not work in its favour. Nonetheless, this tale of the ‘perfect crime’ will appeal to fans of the genre.

It’s quite evident that Manish Gupta’s Rahasya is somewhere inspired by the high profile Noida double murder case of Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj. To make the film dramatic and interesting a lot of fictional characters are added for a good who-done-it murder mystery. There are times when your eyes are on the screen to just know what will happens next. If you enjoy murder mysteries then you must watch Rahasya. It’s a well-made film.

With RAHASYA, director Manish Gupta has tried his level best to keep the secret (read ‘whodunit’) intact. One must admit that, he achieves it to a large extent, thanks to the plot. The whodunit aspect of the film notwithstanding, Manish suffers in his direction very badly. Over a period of time, the film starts boring you because of it being stretched at unwanted places. On the whole, RAHASYA can be skipped without any regret.

A murder mystery after a very long time that grips you in the first half. If you are a fan of murder mysteries, this one is not a perfect case to solve. It is a decent watch if you want to. For a change watch a film without the usual sing and dance show and unnecessary love angles. Rahasya is a Rahasya you may solve if you have not played Cluedo in long.
