Today we turn to the 2016 comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses directed by Greg Mottola (previous highlights include SuperbadAdventureland and Paul) and written by Michael LeSieur (The Heist and You, Me and Dupree).

Zach Galifianakis, and Isla Fisher star and Jeff (works in the HR department of an aeronautical engineering company) who and Karen Gaffney a married couple living in suburbia. Only just having said good bye to their children as they head away for summer camp, they see new neighbours moving in – The Jones.

What seem like a perfect couple, travel writer and glass blowing hobbyist Tim (Jon Hamm) and media consultant, charity working, home cooking blogger Natalie (Gal Gadot) are quick to befriend the Gaffney’s. However the more that the Gaffney’s find out about the Jones’, the more mystery they find and are drawn into the world of international espionage. You know, with theoretically ‘hilarious consequences’.

Only thing is, those ‘hilarious’ consequences are not really hilarious, and not really often enough. Don’t get me wrong, there are some brief funny moments and the cast members are all likeable and bring some fun to the film but it’s that that keeps the film moving and little more.
