ROBOCAR POLI SPECIAL: THE STORY OF THE DESERT RESCUE follows Robocar and his friends as they rescue others from emergencies in the desert. The team of vehicles transforms into robots for each mission. The special features the gang coming to the rescue after a tornado, digging a victim out of a cave in, fighting a sandstorm and rescuing a mother and daughter after a rockslide. The graphics are bright, colorful, and of decent quality. However, the character’s lips don’t move correctly with the voiceover since it’s a Korean show. 

ROBOCAR POLI SPECIAL: THE STORY OF THE DESERT RESCUE contains no offensive content and has a moral worldview, extolling the importance of helping others, teamwork and kindness. However, several instances of characters being knocked unconscious, stuck in bad weather or trapped may be triggering for very sensitive young viewers. MOVIEGUIDE® recommends that children aged two and under have no screen time, while preschoolers aged three to five should have extremely limited and monitored screen time. Parental discretion is advised.

ROBOCAR POLI SPECIAL: THE STORY OF THE DESERT RESCUE follows Robocar Poli and his friends as they rescue those in need of help in the desert. The team of vehicles transforms into robots for each mission. The special features decent quality, and is bright, and colorful. It originally featured Korean dialogue, so the characters lips don’t sync with the English voiceover, which can be distracting.

ROBOCAR POLI SPECIAL: THE STORY OF THE DESERT RESCUE has a strong biblical and moral worldview. The characters work as a team, help others, and demonstrate kindness. It also teaches children safety and There’s no offensive content, although some characters are trapped or slightly injured, which may frighten some sensitive viewers.

The special begins with a character swept up in a tornado. While Robocar and his friends clean up the tornado’s mess, they discover an unconscious victim. They bring him back to their headquarters, where he wakes up and remembers nothing, not even his name. He’s nicknamed DD by the team, who take him around town hoping he’ll remember his identity. Later, they alert Roy the firetruck to fix an issue. He drives into an underground tunnel, but an explosion causes the roof to cave in.

DD hears the noise from outside and attempts to save Roy, but also gets stuck in the tunnel. Robocar and his friends jump to the rescue, and while DD is unconscious once again, he remembers who he is: a search and rescue drone named Droney. They locate Roy and rescue him. Droney flies back home.

Later, Camp treks through the desert and checks in with the Rescue headquarters. That evening, a meteorite crashes near Camp’s campsite. He falls to the ground, and the rescuers deploy. Meanwhile, Camp lies unconscious underground. He wakes up, sees a scorpion and screams. The rescuers head out to help, but a sandstorm knocks them out. They hear sirens, and Droney shows up to help. Once the weather improves, the robots drive underground to search for Camp, who is in trouble in a current of rushing water. They pull him to safety. Afterward, the team returns to headquarters and sing songs together.

Next up, Amber visits Grandma Daisy. The desert rescue team encounters Hannah and Mya, a mother and daughter looking for a rainbow flower. The duo follows directions to Wavy Valley, and Mya runs into a cave. Then, a rockslide traps them inside. The team rescues the trapped mother and daughter, and everyone visits Grandma Daisy.
