On the whole, Satyameva Jayate 2 has some chances in the single-screen cinemas mainly and in circuits like Bihar and U.P. Business in the big cities and from multiplexes will be dull.

you could see Satyameva Jayate 2 as a tutorial on how not to make a movie. Milap takes pride in calling himself a mass film director. Which means that he aims to deliver entertainment. Im a lover of mass movies but the problem with this one is that it is singularly not entertaining. Satyameva Jayate 2 starts with a visual of the Tricolor and then over the next 138 minutes, the film batters us with ear-splitting background music, grotesque visuals, feeble dialogues that are desperate to land punches and superbly hammy acting. The worse offender is Divya Khosla Kumar who plays a politician. I suspect she believes that the way to construct an intense performance is not blinking at all. So she widens her beautiful eyes and delivers lines without the slightest expression.

Watching Satyameva Jayate 2, I had a sharp sense of deja vu. In the worst way possible. Because this flick featuring John Abraham In And As Vigilante No 1 could have given solid competition to the terrible films of the 80s, which stitched together sequences of action-comedy-songs without overly bothering about such things as plot and characterization.

Between these three Johns, Divya Khosla Kumar’s presence as the home minister’s wife, is wasted. The only saving grace in the film is a passable item song Kusu Kusu performed by Nora Fatehi. The biggest problem is the script. It is a dated circa 1990s script, which won’t find acceptance with today’s generations.

In all, we can safely say that Satyameva Jayate 2 gives masala movies a bad name. There is a difference between patriotism and jingoism and this film fails to understand that. There was no need for the second part. Watch it only if you are a big John Abraham fan.

It would be an understatement to describe Satyameva Jayate 2 as a massive misfire. It is an unmitigated travesty of a film. The soundtrack is shoddy and ear-splitting. The dialogues are not only embarrassingly cloying but also clearly the handiwork of a third-rate rhymester. The characters do not speak, they howl. There are gems of unbridled silliness galore as the characters spout ludicrous lines. There is nothing to beat the one that places baap ka tope next to maa ki kokh. The rhyme is appalling, the delivery terrible.

The raw hardcore action is the highlight of the film and John doesnt disappoint €” whether he has to lift a motorcycle with a rider and fling it, or rip out the engine of an SUV, or even rip a few metres of earth by smashing his plough in a field. For action lovers, there are several seeti-maar moments to lap up. While we understand the film is a homage of sorts to the over-the-top cinema of the 1980s that we once relished, some scenes like three John Abrahams stopping the helicopter from taking off with their bare hands, could be a blow too hard even for the OTT sensibilities. If you enjoy the massy masala fare of the bygone era and are willing to take on thrice as much of John Abraham in one frame, you can go indulge in this one.
