On the whole, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has severe limitations for the Hindi film-going audience. Of course, the box-office prospects of the original English version are better.

Across the Spider-Verse takes the multiverse concept and pushes it to a place unprecedented with other films of its ilk. It has so much to digest with multiple stories and visual artistry that its impossible to assimilate everything in one viewing. Yet, the easter eggs and surprises never come at the cost of the overall plot or by pandering to fans. While setting up an essential third outing, this sequel immerses us in a far deeper and more layered story that promises to be rewarding.

In the end, Across The Spider-Verse feels like a lovely celebration of Spider-Man as the superhero we all love. With a stunningly lavish world and a thoughtful coming-of-age story, the film is a highly satisfying and entertaining adventure, and something that must be enjoyed on a giant theatre screen.

One of the biggest highlights for me was our very own desi Spider-Man aka Pavitr Prabhakar, who wins you instantly in Mumbattan. All the desi conversation around chai-tea and traffic brings a huge smile to your face. While the sequel doesnt match up to its predecessor, it is a fun ride, which you can enjoy with kids.

Its been a 5-year long wait for the sequel to the Best animation film Oscar winner Into the Spider-verse, considered one of the most innovative animated films ever. But the long wait has been worth it for the fans.Innovation has been taken to the next level, and the craftsmanship is simply mind-blowing. The film pushes boundaries to celebrate the rich and inventively varied history of the Spider-Man universe, in comic-book fashion.

Like its main protagonist who cant hold still, dipping and soaring, swinging and swaying, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is a restless, firing-on-all-pistons rollercoaster ride. It doesnt always land on its feet, but it is wondrous to be there when it does.

Without delving further into the plot of the movie, it is safe to say that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the best superhero movies in years, and this includes the live-action ones. Writers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and David Callaham along with directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, and screenplay writers Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham bring to life every Spider-Man comic books fans dream on the big screen.

The film ends on an interesting note where Miles choice, his fate and his bravery are all to be put to the test. This is where the film triumphs, in its ability to show that superheroes are humans who are also determined by the choice they make.

Without spoiling much, I can reveal that the film does end on a note that directly sets up part three, the already announced Beyond the Spider-Verse. So, fans of the franchise may find it a must-watch. But in isolation, as a standalone movie, Across the Spider-Verse disappoints, largely because of the expectations one had from it. Hey, but if you are Indian, you can totally go cheer for our boy Pavitr Prabhakar from Mumbattan!
