Drew Pearce has written a fairly interesting story based on Glen A. Larson’s TV series of the same name. His screenplay gets verbose and a bit boring in the first half but the drama becomes more engaging in the last one hour. Yet, it doesn’t consume the audience completely.On the whole, The Fall Guy is an ordinary fare.

There is a lot of chatter about “happy endings” and whether these are even possible. Jody and Colt, one feels, can write their own endings, happy one way or the other, without too much effort. They also make nice working partners. In one scene, Colt talks about “too much exposition” getting in the way. He may as well have been talking about The Fall Guy.

The Fall Guy makes a great argument as to why stunt professionals should be next on that list.
