On the whole, The Garfield Movie is an entertainer and will, therefore, do fairly well at the ticket windows. Kids, especially, will like the film. Of course, in the final tally, the resistance to animation films will tell on the business of the dubbed Hindi version. The original English version will fare better.

For those of us who have pets, and especially cats, you know that life with them is never boring. The animated film captures this, though the 3D part is not essential to the story. It works without it as well. Director Mark Dindal introduces the right amount of slapstick into the tale, to make the film funnier. I loved all the little sight gags in the features, especially those involving Odie. While comic Garfield will always remain the clear favourite, movie Garfield also shines this time.

The Garfield Movie is a fun time at the theater and will be pretty entertaining for kids and adults alike. Still, sadly, it probably won’t become a classic in the same way The Emperor’s New Groove did, not because it is terrible, but because it is too safe, and it doesn’t dare to go the extra mile to create something truly memorable, nevertheless, for the time you will be inside the theater watching it, it will be the charm and laughs to your life.
