On the whole, The Great Indian Family is a fair entertainer but if it still does not make much of a mark at the ticket windows, it will be because awareness about the film and its release is poor.

The Great Indian Family is just the kind of film Bollywood should be making more of. Wait, scratch that. The Great Indian Family is just the kind of film Bollywood shouldnt be making more of. Not because it doesnt have a topical, much-needed idea. But because having a great premise isnt enough. Diluting it with lax execution does more harm than good.

The songs are forgetful, and the direction is very one-toned. The film keeps it simple and has a running time of less than two hours, which works in its favour. If it had been longer, ‘The Great Indian Family’ would have become a complete snooze fest.The Great Indian Family is your two-hour lesson on being human, which is partly boring, partly preachy.

Concluding my review, The Great Indian Family movie is a light-hearted drama that is worth watching and will leave you with a smile. It is a Vicky Kaushal and Kumud Mishra movie as they both stole all the limelight. They both shone in the entire film with their terrific performances.

Personally, I lost interest in many places but there were some scenes that got me hooked. The supporting cast, including Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and more, has played their part well. Keeping all the weak points aside, The Great Indian Family will make you think. While it opens to a slow start, it blends romance, spirituality, family dynamics and social conflict all in one narrative.
