The film’s sheer genius lies in its ability to deliver witty jokes at a rat-a-tat speed. It’s also possibly the only film that allows everyone from Michaelangelo and Wonder Woman, to Abraham Lincoln, Gandalf and Dumbledore to show up in the same place. The big message, of creative freedom and encouraging everyone to think out of the box, is spoon-fed repeatedly during the film’s 90-minute running time, but there’s an unexpected twist closer to the ending that highlights the remarkable audaciousness of the filmmakers. I’m going with four out of five for ‘The Lego Movie’. To borrow the very theme song of this film, everything is awesome!

There’s much to enjoy in this film for all age groups – everything from the pop culture references, the multitudes of characters, light-hearted sarcasm and above all, the fantastic script. Novel, wild, irreverent and inventive, this movie is a multicoloured marvel. It takes characters just a few centimetres tall and creates a story like you’ve never seen before in an animated film. Furthermore, you might find yourself humming the song ‘Everything is awesome, everything is cool!’ long after you’ve left the cinema hall.Note: You may not like this film if you don’t like animation.

At the end of The Lego Movie I stood up, clapped and cheered. I became a 7-year-old again.Despite the constant laughs, the dazzling visuals and the thrilling action the films greatest strength is its charming, surprisingly deep and thoughtful story. I cannot say anything more about the film because Im off to watch it again. I suggest you do the same pronto.

It’s no secret that The Lego Movie is selling you a product. The difference between The Lego Movie and, for example, the Krrish series is that within a few seconds of watching The Lego Movie, you’ll be sold. But for the actors who voice the characters, everything in The Lego Movie is plastic fantastic. No matter how old you are, seeing how Lego has been used in this film will make you want to get a box and start building your own world.
