Not so long since the release of the first teaser trailer for GOTG2, the follow up trailer has now been released by Marvel.

As I worked through the entire MCU this year, GOTG was a high scorer (8/10 – Guardians of the Galaxy). One of the things I loved about it was the way that it cut through the traditions of the MCU and space based genre with the usage of the soundtrack and comedy lifting it well above a number of the other MCU films that I have been becoming quite fatigued with.

Whereas the first one slowly built in with a faded out version of Blue Swede’s Hooked on a Feeling, turning to full volume later, this one is straight into the action. Additionally, whereas the first one largely focussed on Starlord and Drax, it is Rocket and ‘Baby’ Groot that we mostly see in action this time as they play out a funny sequence including a bomb woven around a number of moments involving the various ‘Guardians’. This one uses ‘Fox on the Run’ by Sweet as the background music.

I am already really looking forward to this film which will be one of two MCU films released next year with the other being Thor : Ragnorak.
