MORE DETAIL:

WONDEROOS is an animated series for preschoolers on Netflix. It follows a group of young animal friends, Hazzy, Kiki, Luly, Dewey, and Teshi, as they learn life lessons together. Each episode sees one of the Wonderoos facing a problem and considering two options. When their first choice doesn’t work out, they rewind and try again, making the right choice and learning something new. Each episode ends with a song reinforcing what they just learned.

Episode One sees the Wonderoos gather at the park for a pajama day. When Hazzy gets to the park, he realizes he needs to use the bathroom. However, he doesn’t want to stop playing and wonders what to do. Hazzy has two choices, leaving his friends and going to the bathroom, or “holding it in” and continuing to play.

Hazzy keeps holding it and eventually has an accident. He runs away and hides, where Teshi finds him and says he has also had an accident before. Hazzy chooses to rewind and go back to his choices. This time, he decides to stop playing and go to the bathroom. The Wonderoos wait for him to get back, and they all continue to enjoy pajama day.

In Episode Two, Kiki recalls when she moved to Roo City. As she explores her new home, she starts to wish she had a friend to play with on the playground. She sees the Wonderoos playing and wants to join them. However, she doesn’t know how.

She thinks about what she can do. She can either introduce herself or wait for them to come and say hello to her. Kiki waits for the Wonderoos to come to her, but they don’t. She decides to rewind and introduce herself. She does and the Wonderoos invite her to play with them, which leads to them all becoming friends.

Episode Three follows Luly as she gets ready for a nature class. When she wakes up, she has to decide between doing the activities on her morning checklist, or dancing to the radio and getting ready later. She chooses to keep dancing. Then, when the Wonderoos come to pick her up, Luly isn’t ready and misses out on the nature class.

Luly decides to rewind and chooses to do the activities on her morning checklist — brushing her teeth, eating breakfast, getting dressed, and packing her backpack. When the Wonderoos come to pick her up, she’s ready for the day, and they all enjoy the nature class together.

WONDEROOS has a positive, moral worldview. Each episode emphasizes trying new things, being a good friend, and learning from your mistakes. The characters are supportive of each other and don’t give up when they face a challenge. In the first episode, there are references to “going potty” and “pee,” but otherwise, there is no objectionable content in the first three episodes of WONDEROOS.
