An actioner that has some interesting twists and turns and heroic moments€¦ Loses grip intermittently [second half], also gets predictable, but brilliant action, gripping finale and SidharthMalhotras super act are a big plus. Yodha Review.Debutant directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha handle the dramatic moments well, but tend to take the easy, predictable route as far as writing is concerned€¦ Also, the film couldve done with a better soundtrack, although the background score is effective.

You may or may not emerge unscathed from this cartoonish rigmarole, but our Yodha, fittingly, gets off with the best line in the movie: iss picture ka hero main hoon. Clap, clap.

Sidharth Malhotra to pull this mess out of the dumps. He leaps around, runs, throws punches, fires in all directions and holds his ground as bedlam erupts around him – most of it of his own making – but the actor cannot rise above the muddle that Yodha is.As for the other actors in the cast, they go through the motions. Their faces give nothing away. Is this the stoicism of the brave? No, it is a sign that they, like the audience, are clueless.

Sidharth Malhotra unleashes his inner action hero and delivers a bravura performance. Apart from action sequences, his act in the emotional scenes is superb. Raashii Khanna also shines as Priyamvada and makes her mark with her subtle act. Disha Patani is in fine form and transformation from a simple girl to a terrorist is amazing. On the whole, Yodha is a commercial entertainer filled with action-packed sequences and superb star performances.

Overall, Yodha is a good watch and you will love Sidharth Malhotra again as a man in uniform. He could have been better in terms of a lover boy in the film, but since Yodha is more about action, that tangent can surely be ignored. As mentioned above, the film has nothing to do with any real-life incidents and is based on a complete fictional storyline but it is no short of generating emotion of patriotism in viewers. It is also filled with numerous twists, which keeps you on the edge of your seats. Out of five stars, I will give it a 3.5 rating.

Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, Disha Patani, Sunny Hinduja keep you hooked with their action, seeti maar dialogues. Overall the movie makes for an entertaining watch barring a few moments of helter-skelter situations.

The setup of the film is slow and bumpy but once the plane is hijacked the tension mounts quickly. Debutant directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha’s film offers an adrenaline-fueled ride through the skies, despite a predictable storyline. The music is average barring Ammy Virk and B Praak’s reprised version Qismat Badal Di. The background score blends well with the genre. All said, Yodhas action is thrilling, but it does not really take your imagination to the flight.

The supporting cast including Tanuj Virwani, Sunny Hinduja and Kritika Bharadwaj also impresses. The music, however, fails to leave an impact. Films made on India-Pakistan relationship are being made in galore and Yodha is surely another drop in the ocean. But still it boasts of a certain freshness. Theres no chest-thumping jingoism either. It may not be a trailblazer that redefines new-age patriotic films but it deserves a watch. What matters at the end of the day is entertainment and Yodha dishes out oodles of that.

The cherry on top is their on-point execution of the screenplay which is thrilling and not without substance. Credit where credit is due – Karan Johar deserves brownie points for identifying the storytelling talents of the dynamic duo and giving them a big enough scale and the freedom to just go and express themselves.Gripping is the word for this Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and Disha Patani starrer. It is that kind of film where you cant afford to take your eyes off the screen for even a moment. Sleek, ruthless, and action-packed, Yodha is a must-watch!
